Elephant Rest Forest Cottage - Place of Tranquil surrounds
Background
Elephant Rest Forest Cottage was established in 2011. The cosy, open plan wooden cottage was built by my husband Brett, a perfectionist in his trade thus creating a light and airy, solid, yet charming 3 bedroomed cottage.
Why visit?
Elephant Rest Forest Cottage is situated at the edge of indigenous forest, a quiet, tranquil getaway, private, as there is only 1 unit. A large private garden ensures family gatherings to be fun as is the cottage, so suited for family getaways as it can sleep up to 6 comfortably and can be pushed to 8 as we can provide good mattresses for the extra family members.
We are in close proximity to forest, rivers, safe beaches and great resturant's, yet quiet and surrounded by the beauty of nature. A place to truly unwind from city life, relax and refresh.
We can arrange aromatherapy massage by Forest Massage in the comfort of the cottage. We also offer T-shirt painting for the children.
What we offer
The cottage is fully equipped with the following items to ensure an easy and comfortable stay:
Micowave, gas top, small stove, dvd player, tv, a small selection of books, a sand pit with toys for kiddies, T-shirt painting, ensuite shower/loo/sink, a bath/loo/sink, 2 double beds, 2 single beds, extra mattresses, a huge deck to relax on, have dinner on, pet friendly by arrangement, wheelchair friendly, open plan kitchen, lounge, dining room. Each double room has their own private exit onto the deck, a fire pit for braai's and bonfires, a weber, an indoor fireplace and everything you need except beach towels.

Plot 142, Bibbyshoek, Rheenedal, near Knysna.
•Directions:
From the Rheenendal turn-off from the N2, follow the tar road for 11.5km. Look out for the Totties Restaurant and Top-Up garage situated on your left. 150m Farther on, turn right and follow the road (which becomes a dirt road) for 3.5km until you come to a make-shift 4-way stop. Here, turn right and follow the road looking out for the signpost.
